Kebony Character products are made from FSC-certified® Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) that has been treated with an organic liquid.
The patented Kebony technology permanently changes the cell structure of the wood, creating a unique wood product with excellent stability, minimal maintenance and long service life.
Kebony Character products contain knots and untreated heartwood. The heartwood content can vary. Kebony technology does not alter the durable heartwood of our Kebony Character products. Untreated natural heartwood is visible at the end of the board. Therefore, Kebony Character products should only be shortened in length and the ends sealed.
Additional planing or sanding should be avoided, especially when used outdoors, because this can expose untreated heartwood.
The Kebony technology gives the wood a dark brown color. Due to sun and rain, the wood develops a natural silver-grey patina. Natural differences in colour and structure can occur during delivery and occur after installation. These visual variations have no influence on the technical properties and durability of the product.
The figures given in the data sheet refer to Kebony Character with a heartwood content of approx. 50%.
