Wienerberger Terca facing brick Linaqua Vino (Maaseik plant)

Wienerberger GmbH

Description

The Terca facing brick Linaqua Vino (Maaseik plant) is a hand-formed brick fired in a ring kiln.

More Over

Linaqua hand-moulded bricks owe their characteristic, rustic appearance to a special production process. After shaping and drying, the bricks are usually fired in modern tunnel kilns today. Linaqua Vino, on the other hand, is created in a traditional ring kiln, in which experienced master distillers make each brick unique. The Wienerberger plant in Maaseik, Belgium, has one of the last ring furnaces in operation in Western Europe. The special feature of this process is that the bricks are standing and the burning coal moves along the brick. A time-consuming process with a high level of manual effort – and a unique result.
