LEISTADT SANDSTONE

Bamberger Natursteinwerk Hermann Graser GmbH

Description

Beige to yellowish, fine to medium sandy sandstone from the formation of the Middle Bunter Sandstone near Leistadt/Rhineland-Palatinate.

More Over

The visually appealing and friendly appearance of the Leistadt sandstone is characterised by its warm-toned beige to light yellow and yellow colour. Through various subtle structural fluctuations and sometimes irregularly occurring brown color deposits, the overall effect is pleasantly invigorated.

Due to its permanently good physical and technical properties, frost resistance, as well as good resistance to acids caused by environmental pollution, this material is widely used, especially in open spaces and façade cladding.

The quarry has been mined since the 9th century and is now one of the most productive and consistent quarries with yellowish fine- to medium-grained sandstone in Germany.

The regional Leistadt sandstone is a particularly sustainable building material.
