KOROPOX impregnation

KORODUR Westphal Hartbeton GmbH & Co. KG

Description

Impregnation - Surface treatment

based on epoxy resin

KOROPOX is a two-component, water-emulsifiable, transparent impregnation based on epoxy resin (concentrate) for the improvement of surfaces of mineral substrates. The penetration of liquids and other dirt is reduced. The surfaces are easier to clean and are increasingly glossy. The surface remains open to diffusion.

More Over

Application

KOROPOX is used for the impregnation of concrete or screed surfaces as well as for mineral, cement-bound industrial floors, in warehouses and production rooms, cold rooms, etc. KOROPOX is also particularly suitable for the impregnation of KORODUR and NEODUR industrial floors:

Properties

    :
  • improved surface properties
  • : increased tightness
  • , water-repellent effect
  • ,
  • improved surface hardness and chemical resistance,
  • less dust accumulation,
  • improved cleanability (dirt-repellent),
  • water-thinnable,
  • low viscosity

Substrate processing

  • : The substrate must be dry, firm, clean, absorbent and free of oil, grease and other contaminants that act as release agents. If necessary, suitable substrate preparation must be carried out. Extremely smooth and closed-pore surfaces must be mechanically roughened beforehand.
  • Mixing: Mix components A (resin) + B (hardener) in the coordinated, supplied mixing ratio with a slow-running electric stirrer (whisk) until the mixture is homogeneous. To do this, component B is completely emptied into component A. The homogeneous milky white mixture is diluted with tap water (1:1) while stirring and mixed again until the mixture is homogeneous. Mixing ratio: Component A : Component B = 1:2 followed by concentrate A+B : Tap water = 1:1
  • Processing: In order to achieve uniform wetting of the substrate, the first step should always be applied using the coating method or by flooding. Care must be taken to ensure that the material has enough time to penetrate the subsoil. The excess is then removed with the nylon roller. After each hardening, further work steps can be rolled up to the respective substrate with nylon rollers for intensification if required. The roller must be pressed down forcefully. When processing water-emulsified epoxy resins, it is important to ensure good ventilation, i.e. multiple air exchanges, during processing and drying. Otherwise, reaction and drying disorders are to be expected. As a result, the surface has a different degree of gloss and hardness. The work equipment must be cleaned with water every time work is stopped. In order to record the respective different local conditions, it is recommended to create a sample area.
