Our manufactory, located in the heart of East Frisia, has been owned by the Kaufmann/Matthes family since its foundation and specialises in the production of exclusive architectural clinker bricks, whose unmistakable aesthetics and uncompromising material quality still set standards in the premium clinker segment today.

EACH STONE IS UNIQUE
Peat firing architectural clinker bricks are fired in a hand-fired ring kiln – a manufacturing art that we have been cultivating and cultivating for more than 100 years. Only the experienced eye of the master distiller and his fine sense of fire guarantee the quality of our clinker products in the end. Not only the firing of the kiln is done by hand: before the symbiosis of clay and fire, the individual blanks are carefully stacked by hand inside the ring kiln and brought out again in the same way after the 14-day firing process.

TOP PRODUCT WITH SOUL
The manufacturing principle, based on experience and craftsmanship, gives each individual stone its individual characteristics – which cannot be reproduced in industrial mass production. Peat firing architectural ring kiln clinker bricks are valued not only for striking shapes, but also for expressive colours. These are realized solely in the natural firing process and not – as is common in the brick industry today – by the addition of artificial color pigments or engobes. Only raw material from the company's own land in the vicinity of the brickworks is used. Thus, the careful use of domestic resources is and remains guaranteed.
