Screed-free floor system with cement-bonded chipboard

Cement-bonded chipboard is more efficient than conventional chipboard in terms of its fire protection properties and its suitability for damp rooms and is therefore more versatile. They are used in particular in the renovation of old buildings and when laying on wooden beam ceilings. As a rule, they are laid as a tongue and groove system in a single layer. Depending on the exact design and the type of substrate, a prefabricated screed made of cement-bonded chipboard can upgrade the ceiling to fire resistance as a room-enclosing component of F60 – F90 (in conjunction with the raw ceiling).

Prefabricated screeds made of cement-bonded chipboard usually provide the substrate for a covering to be applied (e.g. tiles, parquet, carpet).
