Properties
Pumice has heat-insulating properties due to its porous and granular structure. The air trapped in the pores also ensures the relatively low weight of this material. However, the thermal insulation properties are low compared to other insulation materials (approx. 0.08 – 0.13 W/mK).
Pumice
is supplied as bulk material and in the form of lightweight concrete blocks, among other things.
Pumice is rarely used as pure granules for thermal insulation. The main area of application for pumice is lightweight concrete masonry blocks.
