In accordance with DIN EN 1307, textile floor coverings are divided into five comfort classes LC 1 to LC 5 (LC = Luxury Class). The classification is based on the basis of the basis weight of their wear layer.
The positive influence of the floor covering on impact sound insulation can be determined by measurements in accordance with DIN EN ISO 10140. Depending on the respective comfort class, the following impact sound improvement can be assumed in accordance with DIN EN 1307 Annex D, even without measurement:
