Gratings usually consist of flat profiles made of hot-dip galvanized steel or stainless steel that cross at right angles and are welded or pressed together .
The support bars themselves are connected to each other by the smaller cross bars. To stabilize the grating, steel profiles are welded to the edges , which are also hot-dip galvanized. If the crossbars are as high as the bearing bars, they are called full gratings.
The load transfer direction is determined by the higher load-bearing bars of the grating, i.e. they usually clamp over the short side.
