In the case of laminated safety glass (LSG), if the pane breaks, the fragments adhere to an elastic, tear-resistant high-polymer film. At least two flat glass panes are bonded together via this film. The film is usually made of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or Sentryglas plus (SGP).
The laminated safety glass unit retains a residual load-bearing capacity in the event of destruction. The risk of cuts and punctures caused by glass fragments is reduced.
At the beginning of production, the glass panes are cut to size and the edges are processed.
