Wooden profile board façade

 

Most wooden facades today are made with profiled boards. Characteristics for profiled boards made of softwood are regulated in DIN EN 14519. The boards produced with modern machines usually have tongue and groove and are offered with a wide variety of profiles. As a result, a wide variety of façade images can be created with a profiled board façade. Lid formwork, inverted formwork, but also strip formwork (due to colour-contrasting, longer springs) can be easily imitated with profiled boards with less assembly effort. An additional rainproof façade membrane is not necessary.

 

Industrially produced profiled boards have standardised dimensions and are usually between 12 and 21 mm thick, between 69 and 146 mm wide and up to approx. 5 m long. In addition, special dimensions are possible. In addition to a wide variety of wood species, manufacturers also offer several different surfaces and coatings. In the case of profiled boards, the deck width is always specified in addition to the width. The dimensions are defined as follows:
