Raised floor with wood-based base layer

Raised floors with a base layer of wood-based panels represent a particularly economical raised floor variant if no requirements are placed on the non-combustibility of the base course, as is required, for example, according to SysBöR for necessary corridors and necessary stairwells. Only wood-based panels that meet at least emission class E1 may be used. To increase stability and to prevent moisture from penetrating the wood-based material, the underside of the carrier board is often laminated with galvanized steel or aluminum sheet and the board has a circumferential edge protection (edge banding), e.g. made of plastic. The top of the panel is either laminated with galvanised steel or aluminium sheet, which then forms the finished floor covering, or it can be covered with covering tiles matching the size of the panel module according to the manufacturer's specifications, e.g. made of elastic/textile coverings or HPL.
