In addition to conventional methods such as bitumen or elastomer membranes, flat roofs can also be sealed with liquid plastic. They are particularly suitable for complicated structures such as drains, skylights and penetrations, as they adapt to the contours of the substrate over the entire surface. The mechanical fastening at the upper edge of connections, as is necessary for roofing membranes, is no longer necessary. If there is sufficient compatibility and adhesion, liquid waterproofing can also be applied to other waterproofing.
Liquid plastics are given property class E1 and are considered single-layer waterproofing if they meet the requirements of the European Technical Guideline ETAG 005 .
For application class K2 (higher-quality version), a dry film thickness of at least 2.1mm must always be maintained.
