Rectified edges

Rectification comes from the Latin "rectificare" and means to correct, improve. During rectification, the tiles are cut to an exact dimension with 90° edges after production. Rectified tiles have a dimensional tolerance of 0.2 mm and thus enable precise installation with minimal joints of 1.5 - 2 mm. However, seamless installation should be avoided, as the tile joint should not only accommodate dimensional tolerances, but also act as an expansion joint to compensate for different expansions of floor material, tile adhesive and covering.

Compared to calibrated tiles, tiles with rectified edges are even more dimensionally accurate, but also more expensive.
