Ventilation systems with supply and exhaust air system

Central supply and exhaust air systems with heat recovery (WRG) are the most common form of ventilation systems for residential buildings and consist of the following individual components:

  • Ventilation unit, usually installed in the technical room,
  • filter unit for treating fresh air,
  • heat exchanger for using exhaust air heat in the cold season,
  • preheating coil to protect the heat exchanger (optional),
  • pipe network.

The air ducts distribute the air specifically to its destinations. Depending on the design of the system, these components differ in structure and arrangement.

1 Ventilation unit

2 Heat exchanger

3 Pre-temperature control (here: ground-brine heat exchanger)

4 Brine-guided geothermal collector (optional)

5 External air duct (AUL)

6 Exhaust air duct (FOL)

7 Exhaust air duct (ABL)

8 Supply air duct (ZUL)
