Clay building board

Clay building boards are drywall boards and clay plaster in one. They are suitable for planking timber and metal stud constructions as well as facing shells, ceiling and roof surfaces in drywall construction.

More about clay building boards

In addition to clay, clay building boards contain aggregates such as straw chaff, hemp or similar vegetable fibres. The addition of such materials not only stabilizes the panels, but also reduces weight and makes processing easier. An additional mesh made of jute or glass can contribute to further stability and density. In addition to erecting interior walls, they are also used to clad suspended ceilings or as insulation, plaster base boards or as an alternative to damp clay plaster. The panels are screwed onto wooden studs or onto existing walls.

Notes on planning

The panels have a good sorption capacity. They have a climate-regulating effect, protect against mould and are open to diffusion. The equilibrium moisture can be used to dehumidify wood and other organic substances and keep them dry. A high heat storage capacity contributes to the optimal indoor climate. Additional levelling plasters are not necessary, the panels can be provided directly with a fine clay plaster.
