A rear-ventilated façade is a form of construction of the cold façade. Here, a ventilated gap is arranged between the façade cladding (e.g. natural stone, precast concrete elements, wood, ...) and the insulation. In this way, the functions of thermal insulation and weather protection are clearly separated. This design can simplify the handling of damage.
If wood is used as façade cladding, this offers a wide range of...
• type of wood (spruce, fir, pine, larch, Douglas fir and oak)
• the shape of the profile (strips, boards, profiled boards, panel façade)
• the type of installation (cover formwork, inverted formwork) and
• the surface treatment (e.g. impregnation)
... a lot of freedom in design.
