Window, Ug value

Ug = heat transfer coefficient for glazing (g for glazing). In order to assess the quality of a window in terms of its thermal insulation, the insulation value of the glazing used, which is described by the so-called Ug value, is decisive. Since the area of the glazing of a window is usually much larger than that of the frame, the Ug value has a very strong influence on the often published total value of a window Uw. The Ug value is calculated in accordance with DIN EN 673, with decisive factors being the type, number and distance of the individual glass panes as well as the gas filling in the space between the panes.
