The flat block is the most common aerated concrete block and is available in almost all stone formats and stone widths. They are always bricked with thin-bed mortar and, due to their very good thermal insulation properties, are particularly suitable for monolithic exterior walls, i.e. a design without additional insulation layers. Depending on the selected bulk density, stones with different λ values are available. However, the lightweight flat blocks made of aerated concrete are not suitable for walls with high static loads. Heavy planar blocks can be used for this purpose.
