Playing in a natural environment in which children can pursue their urge to discover with all their senses, taste, smell and feel, is important for their development. Plants with bright flower colours or berries are particularly interesting for them, unfortunately poisoning accidents occur again and again.
DIN EN 18034 (Playgrounds and open spaces for playing) specifies under No. 5.6 which plants must be avoided when creating playgrounds and which existing plants must be removed. The information sheet "Poisonous plants - look, don't chew!", of the statutory accident insurance (GUV-SI 8018) also lists a large number of unsuitable plants.
According to DIN EN 18034 No.5.6, the following poisonous plants may neither be planted nor present in the area of playgrounds and open spaces for playing!
