In contrast to smooth door leaves, frame door leaves consist of circumferential frames, the filling of which also stands out visually from the frame. Depending on the design, the frame consists of solid wood or wood-based materials glued in rods or layers, which either form the visible surface themselves or are clad with top layers, e.g. made of real wood, HPL or CPL laminates. The filling can either be made of glass or closed, e.g. from multi-layer panels with the same surface as the frame. Special framed doors can also meet high requirements, e.g. in terms of fire protection and/or sound insulation.
