A dry hollow floor consists of a single or multi-layer base course of prefabricated elements. It combines the advantages of dry construction (no longer interruption of execution due to drying times) with those of the free choice of covering and a seamless surface. The base course usually consists of gypsum fibre boards (fibre-reinforced calcium sulphate boards) or wood-based panels. Only wood-based panels that meet at least emission class E1 may be used. Since a dry hollow floor does not introduce any significant building moisture into the building, this design is also very suitable for renovations.
