Modularity

In the construction industry, components and building products that are prefabricated in series and can be combined with each other are referred to as modularity ("modular principle"). A system consists of several modules that are coordinated with each other and can be combined with each other as desired by the planner. For the planning and construction process, this means clear specifications and a short delivery time, as series products are usually stock goods. Renovations and additions are also easier to implement, as individual components from the system can be replaced or added.
