Plaster/surface coating ETICS

In plaster, a distinction is made between an organic and a mineral system. Both consist of water, minerals (marble, quartz, limestone, etc.) and a binder. The difference between plaster systems is the binder. Not every thermal insulation can be combined with both plaster systems.

Organic plasters: Organic plaster has a petroleum-based binder. It has a high impact resistance, is impermeable to water, elastic and has a low vapor permeability. It comes in many colors and grains. However, the surface is partially flammable.

Mineral plasters: The binders for mineral plasters are clay or gypsum. The mineral plaster is permeable, age-resistant, non-flammable, absorbs moisture and releases it again. However, it has a rigid surface structure and can only be dyed to a limited extent.
