DIN EN 13300 replaces the former DIN 53778 and divides interior colours according to various properties. The so-called contrast ratio describes the opacity of a color, which is divided into 4 classes. Class 1 ("high opacity") paints have the best hiding power, followed by class 2 ("good coverage"), class 3 and class 4.
