Hollow Plate

Hollow slabs (also called hollow slab slabs, hollow planks or hollow slabs) describe a type of slab made of precast reinforced concrete elements, which are considerably reduced in weight compared to a solid slab due to circular recesses in the longitudinal axes within the concrete. The elements are placed directly on the load-bearing components and poured into the supporting structure in a force-fit manner at specified points. Due to the smooth soffit, the ceiling does not have to be plastered, joints are filled. The slabs can be supplied slackly reinforced, but also prestressed, which allows for larger spans. Prestressed concrete prefabricated slabs are regulated in Germany by general building authority approvals in accordance with DIN EN 1992-1-1/NA. In addition to the general DIN standards for the construction of concrete structures, DIN EN 1168 applies in particular to hollow slabs.
