Head bolts

Head bolts, also known as head bolt dowels, have become widely accepted in steel composite construction. They are used as composite agents to create the force-fit connection between the steel component and concrete.

A head bolt consists of a cylindrical steel pin with a wider head, which is welded onto the steel component in the steelworks, less often on the construction site, and then poured with concrete.

DIN EN ISO 13918 applies to the production of head bolts, and DIN EN 1994-1-1 also applies to their use in composite components.

head studs are also used in wood-concrete composite construction . However, the bolts here are welded to steel plates that are screwed onto the wooden beam.
