Wooden façades made of wood-based panels look modern and natural-ecological at the same time due to their two-dimensional character. The wooden panels are mounted on wooden slats, whereby the panel joints in particular must be protected by suitable constructions and/or paintings. A wooden panel façade can be used as a VHF (p. 300 | Rear-ventilated façades (VHF)) or as a simple façade cladding of a timber stud wall, masonry or even on an external insulation layer.
Three-layer solid wood panels, plywood panels, cement-bonded chipboard or laminated veneer lumber panels are used. It is important to ensure that the chosen product is approved for outdoor use, as not only the wood but also the fasteners used, such as adhesives, must withstand weathering.
