Glass ceiling

Glass roofs are made to measure and are available in a wide variety of variants and shapes. They are available with a flat inclination, with almost any external shape (circle, parallelogram, oval, free-form, ...) or as a gable, monoton, barrel, hipped, dome or polygon roof. Manufacturers offer various systems, usually with aluminium, steel or wooden profiles on which the insulating glass panes are mounted. On the outside, the panes are fixed with a gasket and cover strips. In addition to single or insulating glass panes, special glazing is also offered for increased sun or sound protection. Openings for ventilation, exit or SHEV are also possible.

The installation is carried out on a sheet steel frame, a glulam beam or a concrete upstand. A more recent development is a fully modular glass roof system with fixed elements. The manufacturer offers six grid sizes from 67.5 - 120 cm wide and lengths from 120 - 300 cm. In addition to glass strips, entire glass roofs can be assembled in this way, again using prefabricated modules. The modules are insulating glazed, prefabricated in series and therefore quick to assemble.
