Plasterboard

Expansion board made of gypsum, which is laminated on both sides with cardboard and was formerly called plasterboard. The cardboard cover gives the board sufficient stability. It is able to absorb the tensile forces acting on the plate. Plasterboards are regulated in DIN EN 520 and are marked with GK. They are used in drywall construction for planking non-load-bearing interior walls, suspended ceilings, facing shells and generally for interior cladding, as well as for the production of precast screeds. Specialized products are offered for use in fire walls or in the sanitary area. See also Lexicon article Planking with gypsum boards and gypsum fibre boards.
