Manhole walls are free-standing pre-wall systems that specifically meet the requirements of manhole cladding. To do this, the system must meet sound insulation requirements independently, i.e. without a wall behind it, in order to minimise sound transmission between the individual floors. If the clad shaft is not sealed off in terms of fire protection in the planes of the raw slabs, the shaft wall must usually also meet fire protection requirements as a room-enclosing component, usually against both fire stress from the room and from the shaft side.
There are systems with a 1-2 layer planked metal substructure and systems with approx. 25 mm thick two-layer solid construction panels without a substructure.
