Corrugated iron

Corrugated iron is a sheet of metal that has been shaped into a wave-shaped shape. Due to the shape, their load-bearing capacity in the longitudinal direction is much higher than that of flat panels.

More about corrugated iron

Corrugated iron has been used since the middle of the 19th century. It is mainly used as a material for roofing and as façade cladding. It can be used straight or bent.

Corrugated sheet metal is usually made of steel or aluminum. Due to the wave-shaped cross-section, the material has a high stiffness and load-bearing capacity despite its low thickness.

To produce the wave-shaped shape, flat steel or aluminum plates are passed between rollers, the diameter of which varies at regular intervals.

There

are different types of corrugated sheets:

  • corrugated steel profiles
  • ,
  • corrugated aluminium profiles
  • ,
  • light plates
  • ,
  • flashed parts
