Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is a widely used and cost-effective organic white insulation material with very good insulation values. Polystyrene is made from styrene. This is obtained from crude oil and inflated into polystyrene with propellants. Since expanded polystyrene (EPS) is more open-pored than extruded polystyrene (XPS), it absorbs more water and can only be used as flat roof insulation under the waterproofing. EPS can be processed very easily on site.
