Einkorn mortar is also called monograin mortar or drainage mortar and is a mortar system for laying natural stone slabs outdoors.
In contrast to normal concrete , single-grain mortar or single-grain concrete uses uniformly sized chippings . Einkorn mortar forms a highly water-permeable mortar bed that prevents water damage and efflorescence caused by frost. In this process, chippings with a grain size of 2-5 or 2-8 mm are mixed with an aggregate from Trass. This is mixed in a mixing ratio of 1-6 according to volume parts in the concrete mixer.
Einkorn mortar is especially necessary when a drainable mortar bed has to be created on the base course and good water drainage is required.
