A ground brine storage tank is a long-term storage system for thermal energy that is "loaded" with thermal surplus energy from flat collectors and waste heat from room cooling.
The difference to normal geothermal collectors is that the geothermal brine storage tank is installed under the floor slab. Thus, the energy remains stored under the building and cannot escape upwards.
Register tubes, which are laid at intervals of approx. 7 cm, are connected to a heat exchanger through which the thermal energy can be supplied and discharged.
