The standard "DIN 18195 Building Waterproofing", which has been in force since 1983, has long been the authoritative set of rules for building waterproofing and was finally replaced by the new standards DIN 18531 - 18535 in July 2017.
Whereas in the past planning principles were dealt with according to water use, the new, revised standards regulate planning, materials, processing and renovation/repair on a component-by-component basis. The following illustration clearly shows the areas of application of the individual standards:
