Point foundation / single foundation

Foundations are differentiated into:

  • Strip foundation e.g. under walls
  • Single foundation e.g. under supports
  • Foundation slabs

The strip foundation is used to support the wall or floor slab. In this way, all vertical and horizontal loads of the protruding walls are transferred to the ground. Typically, the strip foundation is wider than the wall itself to increase the load distribution area between the wall and the ground. In order to determine the exact width, the concrete quality (and the possibly statically required reinforcement), a static calculation is necessary, which is based on the load-bearing capacity of the soil and the type of load.

In order to produce a strip foundation made of reinforced concrete, special foundation formwork is available into which cast-in-place concrete is added.
