Deep foundation

If load-bearing soil layers can only be found at greater depths, a deep foundation is used. Pile foundations or pile walls transfer the structural loads to the deeper layers. Peak pressure on the substrate is used together with the shell friction of the foundation.

Pile foundations can be designed as in-situ concrete or prefabricated concrete parts. Deep foundations tend to have less deformation compared to shallow foundations.

Deep foundations can be laid into the ground with the help of various methods:

  • Driven piles
  • Displacement piles
  • Bored piles
  • Displacement piles Deep

foundations can require much less material than shallow foundations.
