Exterior doors

Doors that separate the interior of the building from the outside are summarized under the term external doors.

Exterior doors include:

  • side entrance doors such as cellar doors, etc.
  • Front doors

These are often designed as revolving doors. In this case, the door leaves are hinged on the longitudinal edge, so the axis of rotation is vertical. DIN right and DIN left doors are differentiated according to DIN 107 depending on the direction of rotation - viewed from the hinge side. If the hinges are on the right side, it is a DIN right door, if they are on the left, it is a DIN left door.

The

production of external doors must be carried out in accordance with DIN EN 14351-1. Since 2010, they have been required to bear the CE mark. This ensures that the values of the basic properties are specified for the door. These are:

  • Resistance to wind load
  • Driving rain tightness Load-bearing
  • capacity of safety devices
  • Installation
  • height

Depending on the circumstances, the following information is also required:

  • Impact resistance
  • Ability to release
  • Heat transfer coefficient
  • Sound insulation
  • Air

permeabilityDoors are available in the so-called nominal sizes. These include the movable part of the door, i.e. the door leaf including the rebate. When ordering doors, it is therefore important to ensure that the actual frame passage dimension is below the nominal size.

Common dimensions are (nominal size/passage dimension/minimum wall opening(width x height)):

  • 610 x 1985 / 563 x 1966 / 625 x 2000
  • 610 x 2110 / 563 x 2091 / 625 x 2125
  • 735 x 1985 / 688 x 1966 / 750 x 2000
  • 735 x 2110 / 688 x 2091 / 750 x 2125
  • 860 x 1985 / 813 x 1966 / 875 x 2000
  • 860 x 2110 / 813 x 2091 / 875 x 2125
  • 985 x 1985 / 938 x 1966 / 1000 x 2000
  • 985 x 2110 / 938 x 2091 / 1000 x 2125
