Notes on planning

Usually sanded bitumen membranes or robust foils are used for this purpose. The lanes must overlap sufficiently at the joints.

In the case of buildings with a basement, the first horizontal barrier is installed approx. 5 cm or a stone layer above the floor slab. This distance prevents water that has already accumulated during the construction phase from soaking through the entire wall. Another layer is located about 40 cm above the edge of the terrain and prevents water from penetrating the splash area of the wall and moving upwards.
