In the evaluation of sound insulation, the consideration of the flanking components is becoming increasingly important. Non-load-bearing lightweight partition walls directly adjacent to apartment partitions/ceilings can significantly reduce their sound insulation value, as they vibrate and then radiate a lot of additional sound energy into the adjacent rooms.
According to the current state of the art, the connection points between lightweight brick partition walls on the one hand and apartment partitions/floor ceilings on the other hand should therefore always be acoustically decoupled. This can be done at the top and side connections, for example, with the help of soft separation profiles, which various manufacturers offer for this purpose. At the lower connection, decoupling is carried out, for example, by inserting a sanded bitumen membrane (strip width ≥ partition wall width including plaster) as a separating layer between the raw ceiling and the light partition wall.
