Flat roof, definition

As a rule, roofs with a slope of less than 5° are referred to as flat roofs. Flat roofs should also have a minimum slope tailored to the respective application, but under certain conditions roofs without slope are also permitted. Many roofing membrane manufacturers offer system solutions for flat roof waterproofing that significantly simplify work for planners and roofers. Complete roof structures with coordinated individual components are offered, which are suitable for the specific requirements of the roof and the respective installation situation.

Flat roofs are roughly divided into unused roofs, which are only used for maintenance purposes, and used roofs, which can be walked on or driven on, for example. Extensively greened flat roofs count as unused, intensively greened flat roofs are assigned to the used roofs.
