recuperative heat recovery

In recuperative systems (e.g. plate heat exchangers), the exhaust air heat is routed directly past the partition wall of the heat exchanger, so that only the exhaust air heat is transferred to the cold outside air through the separate air ducts, but no humidity, as air mixing is not possible. However, there are also plate heat exchangers with diffusion-open partition walls, so-called enthalpy heat exchangers, through which part of the humidity is also transferred to the cold outside air by diffusion. Due to the economic efficiency of the system, the market share of recuperative plate heat exchangers such as the cross-counterflow heat exchanger is approximately 30%.
