Sub-roof, waterproof

In the case of a waterproof sub-roof, the counter-battens must be installed under the waterproofing membrane. This avoids any shaking points in the waterproofing due to the penetrating fastening of the counter battens. In summary, the following criteria must be met:

• Waterproof design of the entire roof surface by glued or welded sub-roof membranes made of bitumen or plastic/elastomer membranes.
• Waterproof design of all penetrations.
• Installation of the counter battens under the waterproofing membrane.

In the "Leaflet for Sub-Roofs, Under-Roofs and Under-Tensions" of the ZVDH, the waterproof sub-roof is defined with the exact nature of the membranes to be used.
