Density

The bulk density sets the mass of a building material in relation to its volume. The higher the value, the heavier the material.

Unit: kg/ dm³ (e.g. for masonry blocks) or kg/m³ (e.g. for insulation materials)

Examples:

  • sand-lime brick, approx. 1.4 -2.2 kg/ dm³ (= 1,400 - 2,200 kg/ m³)
  • Mineral wool 15- 200 kg/m³ (= 0.015 - 0.2 kg/ dm³)
