Wooden façade, surface treatment

Depending on taste and requirements, the wood products for facades can be treated with suitable oils, glazes or varnishes. The coatings can be applied by hand or in an industrial process and most façade manufacturers offer complete coating systems for their products. These systems usually consist of impregnations, primers, intermediate and final coatings, which are coordinated with each other and which must be processed and maintained according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Modern coatings for wooden facades can be thinned with water, as solvent-based glazes and varnishes are increasingly being dispensed with for health and ecological reasons.
