In the case of spring ventilation, the air is introduced in the area of the outer wall near the floor. The exhaust air, on the other hand, is discharged above the door or the inner wall and released to the overflow chamber or the exhaust air duct system. Floor outlets have the disadvantage compared to wall outlets close to the floor that they must be taken into account when laying floors and are more likely to get dirty when installed. The advantage of displacement ventilation is very low flow velocities at the supply air opening, but longer pipe routes are required.
