Foam glass gravel

Foam glass gravel is a fill made from recycled glass with the addition of mineral aggregates. It is highly pressure-resistant, closed-cell, capillary-breaking, rodent-proof, and non-flammable. As far as approved by the building authorities, it can serve as load-bearing thermal insulation, as a capillary-breaking layer and as a cleanliness layer under foundation or floor slabs in one. The installation thicknesses range from 15 to 90 cm. The grain sizes are between 10 and 64 mm. Foam glass gravel may not be used in the groundwater area, the load-bearing subgrade before the paving of the gravel layer must be at least 30 cm above the design water level.
