Rubber flooring

A floor covering made of rubber is also called rubber or elastomer flooring. Synthetic rubber is usually used, natural rubber is rather the exception.

Design variants are sheets, tiles or slabs as well as moulded parts. Shaped stairs and connection profiles are also available. Surfaces range from smooth to textured (roughened, grained, grooved, ribbed).

Surface treatment with e.g. nubs for an anti-slip effect is also popular.

Common thicknesses are between 1.8 and 4 mm.

Elastomeric floor coverings are flame retardant (B1, DIN 4102) and resistant to cigarette embers. The surface is not damaged by short-term exposure to solvents, greases and oils, as well as diluted alkalis and acids. Elastomer floor coverings are PVC, formaldehyde, asbestos, cadmium and CFC free.

Before laying elastomeric floor coverings, the substrate must be professionally prepared.

Rubber surfaces offer a high level of resistance and are therefore used in areas with heavily frequented traffic areas (hospitals, schools, sports facilities, etc.).

Plastic coverings with rubber granules in combination with polyurethane binders are flowable and are mainly used
