Gion A. Caminada

Gion A. Caminada was born in Vrin in 1957. After an apprenticeship as a carpenter in Vrin, he attended a school of arts and crafts in Zurich and then completed a postgraduate degree in architecture at ETH Zurich. Since 1986, Caminada has had his own architectural office in Vrin. In the field of tension between teaching, research and practice, he has been dealing with building culture - especially that of the Alpine region - in a comprehensive sense for many years. In 1999, Caminada was appointed assistant professor at ETH Zurich, and since 2008 he has been associate professor of architecture.
